Downtown Augusta construction shifts Broad Street trash pickup, narrows closes — Augusta Business news

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — Downtown Augusta’s Broad Street improvement project is making steady progress, but it’s also bringing new temporary changes.Garbage collection is being affected on Broad Street from James Brown Boulevard to Eighth Street. Residents and businesses in that stretch must now roll their carts to temporary pickup points on Ellis Street or Reynolds Street.Meanwhile, work is set to begin Monday between 13th and 15th streets. Only one lane in each direction will be open while crews pave. The paving is expected to take no longer than four days, but drivers should expect delays or use an alternate route.Crews are also installing trees along Broad Street. The entire project is expected to be completed by February.
