ATLANTA, Ga. - Georgia is “shattering” records for in-person early voting, with more than 2 million people already casting ballots before Election Day.As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, 2,000,452 Georgians had voted in person statewide, according to the secretary of state’s office. In 2022, 1,640,652 Georgians voted early in person over a 15-day period — meaning this year’s in-person early turnout is up 22% compared with the same number of days. When absentee ballots are included, overall turnout has reached 28% with seven days still remaining until Election Day. That pace matches where Georgia was at this point in the 2022 election cycle.“Georgia voters deserve the highest praise,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “They are shattering in-person turnout records because they trust our election process.”So far, 97,382 absentee ballots have been accepted in addition to the in-person totals.Early voting runs through Friday.
