Suspect arrested after woman’s body found at Loews Atlanta Hotel in Midtown

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A suspect has been arrested in the death of a woman at a luxury Midtown Atlanta hotel last month, according to police.On Oct. 14, officers responded to reports of a death at 1065 Peachtree St. NE, the address of the Loews Atlanta Hotel.Officers found a woman dead in a hotel room. The Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide and identified the woman as 45-year-old Melissa Tibbetts. The warrants accuse Poindexter of beating Tibbetts and breaking her hyoid bone, which is in the neck. At the time, Poindexter was receiving treatment in Gwinnett County for a self-inflicted knife wound, according to police.
