Destination Augusta highlights tourism progress at State of Tourism event

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Destination Augusta held a State of Tourism event Wednesday highlighting the area’s progress this year and showing how tourism fuels Augusta’s growth and boosts quality of life.Bennish Brown, president and CEO of Destination Augusta, spoke about the community’s future.“It will be a new Augusta that has occurred right in front of our eyes, but the fact that we’ve all witnessed and came through it, we’ll have our own stories about how we lasted through this, but we’ll also be so excited to be residents that live here,” Brown said.Destination Augusta is also offering residents a chance to win a stay-cation by supporting local businesses.
