Paine College students spend the day volunteering at church’s Fall Pumpkin Patch — Augusta Schools news

MARTINEZ, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Students from Paine College spent the day earning community service hours by volunteering at the Marvin United Methodist Church pumpkin patch.David Skelton, the church’s treasurer, said working the patch creates lasting memories for volunteers and visitors alike.“We had one family come in and the little boy didn’t want to get out of the car until his grandmother showed him the pumpkins,” Skelton said. “And he drug her across the parking lot. When he got here on the straw, he took off of the pumpkins, waving his little hand, screaming, ‘Pumpkins, pumpkins!’”The pumpkin patch will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
